Asilomar State Beach

Overview
The Asilomar Conference Grounds is a complex of meeting halls, dining facilities, and guest rooms on 107 secluded acres of scenic forest and sand dunes. Buildings designed by Julia Morgan enhance the ocean views. It is located in Pacific Grove, off highway 68. Phone (831) 646-6440 for more information.

Trails
Access Trail #1: 0.04 mile boardwalk trail to ocean overlook. Trailhead and accessible roadside parking are on west side of Sunset Drive near main beach.

Access Trail #11: 0.07 mile along coastal bluffs to ocean overlook. Trailhead and accessible roadside parking are on west side of Sunset Drive near Pico Avenue.

Access Trail #19: 0.06 mile along coastal bluffs to ocean overlook. Trailhead and accessible roadside parking on west side of Sunset drive near Arena Avenue.

Access Trail #24 (Rocky Shores Trail): 0.08-mile boardwalk along coastal bluffs to ocean overlook. Trailhead and accessible parking are at Sunset Avenue near Jewell Avenue.

Asilomar Dunes Boardwalk: 0.25 mile through sand dunes along the ocean shore. Trailhead and accessible parking are at west side of Sunset Avenue.

Coast Trail: 0.75 mile along coastal bluffs is accessible. Many points of access, including the four accessible ones given above.

Beach/Shore Access
One beach wheelchair and one beach walker are available for use at any Monterey County Beach, free of charge. Contact Asilomar Conference Grounds staff at the front desk (within the Pheobe A. Hearst Social Hall) to borrow the equipment. For more information, call (831) 372-8016.

Other Information
Lodging and Conference Facilities:

Accessible lodging is provided in 10 guest rooms - 2 in Stuck-up Inn, 2 in Surf, 4 in Cypress, and 2 in Treetops.

Phoebe A. Hearst Social Hall, Merrill Hall, Crocker Dining Complex, and Chapel have been made accessible including restroom facilities within these buildings.

Routes of travel connecting the main facilities in the Historic Core (Phoebe A. Hearst Social Hall, Merrill Hall, Crocker Dining Complex, BBQ area, and Chapel) also connect with Asilomar Boulevard and lodging at Stuck-up Inn, Pirates Den, Surf and Sand Complex, Sea Galaxy Complex, and related parking areas. Accessible parking has been provided in connection with these improvements.

More improvements are underway or planned. Please call the Asilomar Grounds concessionaire staff at (831) 372-8016 for the most current information about accessible lodging and conference facilities.
