This State Vehicle Recreation Area is located eight miles east of the community of Heber on Heber Road. Access is via Interstate 8 to State Highway 111 or 86. Highway 86 becomes Heber Road where it intersect Highway 111. The most prominent features within the park are sand dunes and extensive vegetation, primarily tamarisk trees.
While more accessibility improvements are pending, the park now has a fully accessible restroom with van accessible parking located adjacent to the park office.
