Carpinteria State Beach

Overview
Just minutes from Santa Barbara and Ventura, Carpinteria State Beach offers camping, picnicking and beach activities year-round. The park is a unique treasure with a rich biological and cultural history. Phone (805) 585-1869 or (805) 684-2811 for more information.

Camping
Anacapa Loop: Campsites #105 and #115, and group campsites Bobcat and Fox, are generally accessible. The combination restroom/shower building in the middle of the campground loop is accessible.

Santa Cruz Loop: Campsites #211, #231, and #242 are generally accessible. The combination restroom/shower building at the entrance to the campground loop is accessible; the combination restroom/shower building in the middle of the campground loop is generally accessible.

Santa Rosa Loop: Campsites #339 and #346 are accessible. The combination restroom/shower building at the entrance to the loop is accessible; the combination restroom/shower building at the exit of the loop is usable.

San Miguel Loop: Campsites #439 and #440 are accessible. Combination restroom/shower buildings at either end of the campground loop are usable.

Picnic Area
The day use area contains several picnic sites and shaded group picnic areas, that are accessible. Accessible parking, routes, and restrooms are also available in the day use area.

Beach/Shore Access
A boardwalk, accessed from the day use area, provides several accessible beach access points. In addition, a beach wheelchair is available for use. Phone (805) 684-2811 for beach wheelchair inquiries or contact staff at the park entrance station.

Exhibits/Programs
Visitor Center: Located adjacent to the Anacapa Loop, the visitor center is accessible. The visitor center provides educational opportunities about the natural and cultural resources found at the park. Limited accessible parking is available at the visitor center. Additional accessible parking is available in the day use area.

Campfire Center: Located adjacent to the visitor center and the Anacapa Loop, the campfire center includes both upper and lower accessible seating areas. Programs are offered primarily during the summer months from late May through early September. Accessible parking for the campfire center is available in the day use area.

Tomol Interpretive Play Area: Tucked into the northwest corner of the park, this unique and accessible playground allows visitors to have fun while imagining what it might have been like to live in a Chumash Indian village on the shore of the Pacific Ocean. Access to the Tomol Interpretive Play Area is by way of the Bioswale Trail, a 0.2-mile path that begins near the visitor center and ends at Linden Avenue. Accessible parking for the play area is available in the day use area. Additional parking (City of Carpinteria) is available along Linden Avenue.
