Bolsa Chica State Beach

Overview
Bolsa Chica State Beach extends three miles from Seal Beach to Huntington Beach City Pier. A bike-way connects it with Huntington State Beach, seven miles south. It is located near Costa Mesa along the Pacific Coast Highway between Golden West and Warner Avenues. Phone (714) 377-5691 for more information.

Camping
Six accessible RV campsites with water and electrical hook-ups are available. Routes of travel and parking are accessible. Restrooms with showers are generally accessible.

Picnic Area
Accessible picnic sites are located along beach area near accessible snack bar.

Trails
The Bolsa Chica Multi-Use Trail (aka Huntington Beach Bike Trail) is a flat 2.9 mile paved accessible trail along the entire length of Bolsa Chica State Beach. Continuing south on the bike trail beyond the limits of Bolsa Chica State Beach takes you to Huntington City Beach and eventually to Huntington State Beach. Total length of the bike trail is nearly 8.5 miles from the northern tip of Bolsa Chica State Beach to the southern tip of Huntington State Beach.

The bike trail is a popular paved trail used by hikers, bikers and roller skate/blade users. Entry and accessible parking is from any day use lot. Accessible restroom and drinking water are located at the entrance station.

Beach/Shore Access
Bolsa Chica has two wide paved pathways that extend across the surface of the beach to near the high tide line. These pathways are adjacent to parking lots #17 and #18, but can be accessed from anywhere along the Huntington Beach Bike Trail that runs the length of the beach. A beach wheelchair is available. Call (714) 377-5691 for information. Accessible outdoor showers are also available.
