Point Mugu State Park

Overview
Point Mugu State Park, located in the Santa Monica Mountains, features five miles of ocean shoreline, with rocky bluffs, sandy beaches, sand dunes, rugged hills and uplands and two major river canyons. The beach is 15 miles south of Oxnard on Highway One. Phone (310) 457-8144 for more information.

Camping
Two generally accessible campsites (#36 and #58) are available in the Sycamore Canyon Campground. Nearby combination restroom/shower buildings in the campground are generally accessible.

Picnic Area
Fourteen picnic sites spread throughout the Sycamore Cove day use area are accessible, including parking. Additional accessible amenities in the picnic area include water spigots, BBQ grills, outdoor rinsing showers, and portable toilets.

Trails
Sycamore Canyon Trail: The trail route starts from the park campground and follows a maintenance road 6.5 miles from Sycamore Canyon to Deer Camp Junction. The trail route is relatively flat with a firm stable surface and could be usable throughout the majority of the trail by some visitors with disabilities. There is a creek crossing 0.75-mile up the trail that may prevent access to some visitors, and multiple creek crossings thereafter up to Deer Canyon Junction.

Beach/Shore Access
A beach wheelchair is available for public use, free of charge, at the Sycamore Cove day use area. Contact park staff, or call (805) 488-7844 or (805) 488-1827 ext. 100, to inquire about availability.
