San Clemente State Beach

Overview
The area around San Clemente State Beach is known for its ocean, hill, and mountain views, a pleasant climate, and its Spanish Colonial style architecture. The beach is in Orange County, halfway between Los Angeles and San Diego, at 225 Avenida Calafia, San Clemente, CA 92672. Phone (949) 492-3156 for more information.

Camping
In the tent campground, nine campsites are accessible (#73, #93, #98, #113, #126, #138, #141, #155, and #159), while four campsites are designated accessible (#104, #134, #156, and #158). Three combo restroom/shower buildings in the tent campground are usable. Temporary parking is available at the combo building near site #93 and #104; the combo building near site #156 lacks temporary parking.

In the RV campground, three campsites with hook-ups are generally accessible (#20, #54, and #56). Two combo restroom/shower buildings in the RV campground are usable but lack temporary parking. The campground loop road serves as the route to these combo buildings.

The campfire center, accessed from the tent campground (near site #153), includes seating for wheelchairs. Temporary parking is not available for the campfire center; the campground loop road serves as the route to the campfire center.

Picnic Area
An accessible picnic area is situated between the day-use area and the RV campground. A generally accessible picnic area is available west of the visitor center, however, some visitors may need assistance navigating the route. Accessible parking is available in the day-use area; restrooms are usable.

Trails
The Multi-Use Access Trail is a 0.24 mile accessible route from the Avenita Del Presedente Ave. pedestrian entrance and links the campground, day use parking and campfire center. The surface is compacted soil. The trail is generally flat at less than 5% with one section for 85 feet at 8%.

The Butterfly Trail is a 0.38 mile, accessible trail through a eucalyptus grove between the entry station and campfire center. The surface is compacted soil and is flat.

Beach/Shore Access
Beach wheelchairs are available. Contact park staff at the entrance kiosk for details. The north beach access trail is the less steep of the two trails to beach. Contact park staff to request transport of the beach wheelchair and/or a disabled individual to the beach.

Exhibits/Programs
Information on the history of San Clemente and of San Clemente State Beach is generally accessible in the visitor center. Accessible parking is available in the day-use area; restrooms are usable.
